What we collect

Contact form

When you write to us through a form on this site, we process your name, e-mail address and the content of your message. The data is used solely to answer your enquiry and is delivered by e-mail to the responsible person in the Secretariat. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in replying to an enquiry you sent us yourself.

If you subscribe to the newsletter, we store your e-mail address in order to send news about the work of HRO CIGRE. Subscribing is voluntary and rests on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time — every message carries an unsubscribe link.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. On your first visit we show a banner where you choose what you allow; nothing beyond the necessary cookies is set before you make that choice.

Necessary cookies

These keep the site working: they maintain your session, protect forms against abuse and remember your cookie choice (the gdpr_consent cookie, kept for one year). They cannot be switched off, because without them the site does not function.

Functional cookies

These cover third-party embedded content such as the location map. Until you consent, that content is not loaded at all — a placeholder with a button you can use to enable it is shown instead.

Analytics cookies

These help us understand how the site is used, for example which pages are visited most often. Analytics is activated only after your consent; if no analytics service is configured at the time of your visit, no analytics script runs at all.

Marketing cookies

We do not use any. This site carries no advertising pixels or advertising trackers.

The consent record

When you choose which categories you accept, we record that choice so we can demonstrate that consent was given. The record holds a randomly generated device identifier, the policy version, your choice per category and the language of the page. We do not record your IP address, browser details or user account, so the record cannot be tied back to you as a person.

Embedded content and recipients

The site may display content served by third parties, such as the location map. That content loads only after you consent to functional cookies, and the provider may then record your IP address under its own privacy policy. Beyond that we do not share your data — the exceptions are our hosting and e-mail delivery providers, who process it strictly on our instructions, and cases where disclosure is required by law.

How long we keep the data

Contact form messages are kept for as long as needed to resolve the enquiry and for ordinary business correspondence. A newsletter subscription is kept until you cancel it. The consent record is kept while the consent is valid and for a reasonable period afterwards, as evidence.

Your rights

You have the right to request access to your data, its rectification or erasure, restriction of processing and portability, and to object to processing. Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal. Send your request to info@hro-cigre.hr.

You can change your cookie choice at any time through the Cookie settings link in the site footer.

If you believe we process your data unlawfully, you may lodge a complaint with the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP), Selska cesta 136, 10000 Zagreb.

Changes to this policy

We may amend this policy from time to time. If the purpose of processing changes or a new cookie category is added, we will ask for your consent again.
