D1 – Materials and emerging test techniques

Study Committee D1 operates within the Croatian National Committee of CIGRE (HRO CIGRE), following the international CIGRE study-committee taxonomy. Its goal is to enable and promote the advancement of engineering and the international exchange of information and knowledge in its field.

D1 – Materials and emerging test techniques

Mission

To enable and promote the advancement of engineering and the international exchange of information and knowledge in the field of materials and emerging test techniques. Through the synthesis of contemporary practice and the development of recommendations, to add new value to the existing knowledge in this field.

Scope

The activities of Study Committee D1 assess and monitor:

  • Fundamental aspects of new and existing materials for electrical engineering (conductive and insulating materials for electrical use).
  • Multi-component insulation assemblies with one or more electrical insulating materials used together with the associated conductive parts.
  • Diagnostic techniques and related rules.
  • New test techniques.

Timely provision of information on new developments and trends in the field of materials and new emerging test techniques to other Study Committees and support in analysing the introduction and application of these materials and techniques.
