Study committees and sections

Study committees (SC) are CIGRE working bodies in which leading experts from individual fields of electric power engineering operate. Within each committee, working groups are formed to address specific topics from the work programme in more detail, producing technical brochures. More than 2,500 experts from around the world actively cooperate in the programmes of 16 study committees, coordinated by the CIGRE Technical Committee.

The HRO CIGRE study committees are organised in the same way and cover the same fields. Across 16 committees, more than 250 prominent experts from universities, the power utility sector and the electrical industry are active. Alongside the committees, HRO CIGRE also has 6 sections — thematic groups formed around a shared interest.
